Following an attempted visit in September (where I was harassed by angry shoe weilding children) I finally got to visit this site in December 2015. People were very unwelcoming and intimidating, shouting "Allahu Akbar" for the majority of my short visit. Security guards were very suspicious of anything and always stalked my group for the entire visit. Visiting hours were short and inconsistent. It's a shame that an integral piece of modern Jerusalem culture and society is so closed to outsiders.
The buildings were beautiful and historical, but the people really soured the whole experience.
